Travel to Port Hardy

Our tours begin in Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island with a night at the Kwa’lilas Hotel.

Driving

If driving to Port Hardy from the Vancouver area you need to sail on BC Ferries to either Nanaimo or Victoria on Vancouver Island. Port Hardy can also be reached from Prince Rupert and Bella Coola with BC Ferries Inside Passage and Central Coast Connector routes.

From Washington State, Coho Ferry sails between Port Angeles and Victoria.

Drive time from Victoria to Port Hardy is approximately 6 hours and from Nanaimo to Hardy is approximately 4 1/2 hours.

Flights

Flights to Port Hardy (YZT) depart from the south terminal of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. These flights are operated by Pacific Coastal Airlines. When booking your tour with us we can add the flight between Vancouver (YVR) and Port Hardy (YZT) plus van transfers between the Port Hardy airport and the Kwa’lilas Hotel in Port Hardy. We will quote you the current airline rates (prices may increase as flight selection decreases). Payment in full is required for the add-on flight when booking.
